Alex Gilson

Alex Gilson has been working as the Principal Organist and Assistant Director of Music since 2018. Alex provides fantastic organ music for regular services at First Pres and enjoys playing for the church’s special concerts including the annual Christmas concert and solo organ recitals. Alex has many musical interests including jazz piano, cello, guitar, trumpet and music education.

Alex has dedicated over a decade of his life to learning and practicing the art of pipe organ performance. Starting with lessons in 2006, Alex went on to get degrees in organ performance from the University of North Texas in Denton, Texas and from the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, New York. Alex has been involved in the church from a young age and feels blessed to be an active part of the music ministry at First Presbyterian Church.
