At First Presbyterian Church, we believe serving others is one of the most meaningful ways to live out our faith. Alongside our financial support for mission partners, we encourage members and friends to join in hands-on service opportunities throughout the year.
Volunteers can help prepare and serve meals for the hungry, support shelter ministries, collect and distribute clothing and household goods, and participate in seasonal service projects.
These opportunities provide a chance not only to meet urgent needs but also to build relationships and grow in faith together as we embody Christ’s call to love our neighbors.
Service Opportunities Include:
The Caring Closet at First Presbyterian Church is one of our primary hands-on service opportunties. It is a ministry of compassion that provides clothing, shoes, and basic household items for individuals and families in need in our community. Rooted in our Matthew 25 vision, this ministry offers dignity and hope by ensuring that neighbors facing hardship can access essential items at no cost.
Volunteers play a vital role in the Caring Closet—donating gently used clothes and other requested items, sorting donations, organizing shelves, preparing clothing for distribution, and welcoming guests with warmth and respect. Service opportunities are available for all ages and schedules, from one-time helpers to ongoing commitments.
Through this ministry, we not only meet practical needs but also share the love of Christ in tangible ways, building relationships and strengthening our community.
