For over three decades, First Pres has hosted and curated a Performing Arts Series that brings in world-renowned guest artists, produces major Broadway musicals and Christmas concerts, and highlights the arts in the Quad Cities. Based on the award-winning 1975 children’s novel by Natalie Babbitt and its two movie adaptations (1981 and 2002), the musical by Chris Miller, Nathan Tysen, and Claudia Shearer opened on Broadway in 2016 to critical acclaim. The FPC production, appropriate for adults and young children, will feature a multi-generational cast with in-house and community talent, accompanied by a live band.
